Though this is two weeks old, it is a case we were familiar with and since we just posted one victory over the ACLU (at least thus far), let's do another. Kudos to Judge Pfeiffer and Gov. Carcieri of Rhode Island for doing what is right.
Due to time restraints, we will refrain all but brief commentary on this one, however, the story pretty much encapsulates what occurred. |

Court Rejects ACLU's Defense of Sex Offenders |

In what seems to be an ongoing effort on the part of the ACLU to defend the indefensible and stand on the side of sex criminals instead of victims and law abiding citizens, a three judge panel with the Indiana Court of Appeals court brushed away their appeal of a pervert who previously lost in a lower court.
Although we don't have the time to provide commentary at this moment, we think this story (and the comments, though surprisingly many of them side with the ACLU) speaks for itself and we have past articles with my commentary on our site on the ACLU defending sex offenders here in my home state of Indiana.
Thank God for a good victory and hopefully this will spread across the state and more towns can protect their people from criminals and legal thugs like Ken Falk and others at the American Criminal Liberties Union.

No Bailout, No Compromise, No Exceptions |

Update 10/1/08
What part of NO BAILOUT does this president and the U.S. Senate not get? The Senate is prepared to vote on a new "stimulus" package. I don't care what is in it - it is not the job of the federal government to dictate how banks and other financial institutions are run. Like the House bill on Monday which went down to defeat, so must the Senate bill. These power hungry senators don't care about the people. They are willing to go against them, come hell or high water. And I say this - if they do and they are up for reelection next month (appr. 33 of them are), send them to the unemployment line, regardless of their voting record. If they're not up til 2010 or 2012, it's time for us to have very long memories and have this vote ingrained in our minds to recall when they do come back to the voters. This is insanity. Apparently all those doom and gloomers are ignoring the FACT that the markets rebounded on Tuesday after plummeting on Monday. Our elected officials MUST HAVE THEIR FEET HELD TO THE FIRE & TOLD TO REJECT THIS PACKAGE, REGARDLESS OF WHAT'S IN IT. Stand up to President Bush and the U.S. Senate. Tell him and your two senators an unequivocal NO to any bailout, regardless of content. Though numbers are falling, 70% of Americans still don't want government running the markets. You must write these guys now. Go here now and tell them again, especially if they disagree with you. Hold their feet to the fire. Do not let them off the hook. As the saying goes, when these guys feel the heat, they'll see the light. Admonish them that you will have a long memory if they ignore your wishes and the best interests of the American people.
Folks, I have never strayed from our Stop the ACLU mission and have faithfully kept this site in mind of this mission. However, because these are unprecedented times, I am taking unprecedented action here and making an exception this one time by going off topic and asking everyone reading this to demand their U.S. senators and Congressmen say an unequivocal NO to any taxpayer bailout of the financial markets, mortgage outfits, securities, etc. Taxpayers must not be on the hook for something that is not their fault and on top of that, there is ZERO excuse to bail out any financial institution that gave home loans, credit cards or any other financial favors to illegal aliens - ZIP, ZILCH, ZERO, NADA! I am not concerned about any compromise. It is up to any financial institution to make or break on their own. We don't bail out private businesses with taxpayer dollars here in America. We didn't bail out Montgomery Ward when it failed. We don't bail out failed restaurants. Why the hell are we considering bailing out any private entity? The issue here is not what these so-called fat cats earn. I don't care about that. As long as we taxpayers are not footing their salaries, they can be trillionaires for all I care. But if we're going to have Americans cover someone elses' butts, that is off limits! No dice! Call or fax your Congressmen and senators today, even if their staffs are not in. The fax lines run 24/7. Do not e-mail, it may not go thru or it may be deleted, especially if your views are not in line with them. Do not snail mail, it will be too late by the time it gets to lawmakers' offices. And preferably, if you have access to a fax, compose your own message rather than use a canned one from some website. Your message will have more impact if it comes directly from you rather than a pre-composed form. It's OK to get some ideas from any of these sites that have them in place. But make sure the message comes from you. Here is where you can locate your lawmakers' phone and fax numbers. You may not be a financial expert (I certainly am not) but if you are a taxpayer, that's all you need to have credibility and concern about what Washington is poised to do. If you know that your tax dollars shouldn't be going to subsidize private entities, you know enough to tell your elected officials NO to the bailout. It is an absolute must that we pull out all stops and unseat this November every Congressman or Congresswoman that votes for President Bush's bailout package or any form thereof. The same goes for all U.S. senators but keep in mind that only a third of them are up for reelection in November. If your senator is rerunning for his seat and votes for the bailout, make sure he or she knows that you will work overtime to see them to the unemployment line. It does not matter how flawless your lawmakers' voting records are to this point. If he or she votes for this package, he or she has voted to saddle your backs with higher taxes and other costs that will occur by providing money to these entities that did wrong or otherwise failed on their own. As such, they must be turned out of office. We know Congressman and former presidential candidate Ron Paul won't be voting for any bailout. No Congressman or senator should under any exceptions. It is not the government's job to play a reverse form of Robin Hood in this manner. Please get this message to everyone possible and let's be serious. We must vote out every single Congressman, Congresswoman and senator that votes for this package or any form thereof, no matter how conservative (or liberal) they are and no matter how long (or short) they have served in Washington, no exceptions. This is the people's house. This is the people's elected representatives. To vote for a bailout of any form is insane. Tell them NO or tell them they will go. And if Barack Obama and John McCain support it, which it appears they are, they must not be elected, period! Neither should be anyway but I do not want to make a presidential statement here. I don't have any particular story that leads the way on the bailout in terms of all you should know so just simply use Google News to get the latest. And you should use www.senate.gov and www.clerk.house.gov and follow the links to see how your elected officials voted for this gargantuan boondoggle. Oh, I take back the first sentence. Go to Michelle Malkin's website, read her latest piece here (out less than an hour ago) and check with her site for updates. This is probably the best item out there I've seen. In the meantime, pray that this gets ground to a halt. The Republicans in the House can't stop it because of the way the House works. The Senate can via a filibuster but as Michelle notes, that may not occur, per one senator. It must! The Senate is to return tomorrow or Tuesday to vote on this. It must be gutted the same way the illegal immigration bill was in the summer of 2007. Let's do what we can. Pass the word along! And again, pray! We may well become a socialist (Communist) nation if this goes thru. President Bush and all supporters of this legislation must be defeated at all costs! And if the legislation isn't, we must take unprecedented action at the ballot box in 5 weeks. Rasmussen Reports said earlier last week there was only 7% support for the boondoggle. Remind Congress that there will be a price to pay to back it! And we're not just joshing. We're dead serious. And thanks to a Stop the ACLU visitor, we are adding this site for you to visit and make your voice clear. Only 9% of the folks who have come here support the bailout while 91% say a big fat NO. Join the 91% now. And if you haven't yet forwarded this item. do so now. Thank you! |

Friends and supporters, I know there are other important ACLU items I have yet to cover. A couple of those that are particularly outrageous are the ACLU’s lawsuit to block Nashville residents from voting to make English the city’s official language and a suit blocking an order from the governor of the state of Rhode Island requiring employers to verify immigration status of prospective employees. Another one is the ACLU giving over a million dollars, a gift said to be the largest of its kind on this matter, to defeat California’s marriage amendment which is on the ballot in November. And there are other important items that need our commentary and analysis.
However, because the following item is something personally hitting home with me at this moment in time, I am compelled to share the details with you.

If we’re talking Indiana, the answer is YES. See the other items on this matter on our site? And then read this piece for the latest. And hold on to your chair when you do.
(And if you are an ACLU employee in any fashion, read on to the end and if you're gutsy, take the Stop the ACLU challenge.) |

The 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution: Congress shall make NO law respecting an establishment of religion OR prohibiting the free speech thereof OR abridging the freedom of speech……
OK, that’s only half of it. But that aside, is there any wiggle room here in terms of understanding of the 1st half of the 1st Amendment? The ACLU and the misnamed Americans United (AU - a smaller version of the ACLU) think there is.
Uh, I don’t think so. And apparently neither did the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals this past week. |
